In a world where politics has become the number one issue in most households, families have separated over political ideologies and suffered immensely over those in power; it is time to become aware of moral reasoning. With this comes my responsibility to contribute to the discussion, which has led to the creation of this blog and its accompanying themes.
Politics is a pressing issue in our modern day. It has become common for households to have conversations surrounding politics. These conversations have brought incredible pain in families, causing many to lose touch with members of their own family over disagreements in political views. This is why I am focusing my attention on reconnecting ethics with politics. When politics is understood with the help of moral reasoning, political discussions are used for good and seen as a necessity in a thriving democracy. It is these democratic institutions that have given ethics a voice in household chit-chat. These institutions uphold ethical standards, and I am committed to defending these standards.
This is why I focus on politics as my central theme, for this moment.
As a Canadian citizen, and given our recent difficulties with the Trump administration, it has come time to share what I understand about moral reasoning and how I apply it to political discussions in my own home.
